Crude oils: did you know…. The composition of crude oil depends on the type and can vary significantly! Some types are as thin as water, whereas other types are as thick as syrup. Most have a brown to black colour.

The large scale, commercial, production of crude started in 1861. Question is: how long will sufficient oil be available? The current ‘production/consumption ratio’ is around 50 years, however with electrification, more efficient engines and energy production ahead it is anticipated to have enough oil for some 60 – 80 years!
